Colin & Justin’s Hotel Hell follows Scottish interior designers and couple Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan as they buy and transform a run-down hotel in rural Nova Scotia and attempt to turn it into a luxury high end boutique hotel.

Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan are two months into their project, but with winter coming and problems mounting, the restaurant build is under way, despite the escalating costs. Now they just need a chef to run it and they try out David, who has been working in pest control since he lost his chef's job in the pandemic. Colin and Justin are also renovating the reception area and want to make it more welcoming with a gift shop, so they visit a local sawmill to find timber shelves made from wood from the surrounding forest.
