With a month under their belts, the junior doctors are growing in confidence. Just as well, as they face up to some of their most challenging cases.

During a hectic 9-hour shift, Claire (pictured) battles overcrowding in the emergency department and a shortage of blood bank supplies as she fights to help a cancer patient in desperate need of a transfusion.

Ese must solve a medical mystery when a 31-year-old woman comes in suffering from extreme pain and vomiting – which she puts down to having been poisoned by her hair dye.

And Christine has to use her judgement to decide whether an 81-year-old man with history of heart attacks is having another dangerous episode.

The junior doctors are nearing the end of their first month in the busy Emergency Department, and are being given increasingly complex cases. Christine (pictured) handles a mysterious fall case, and Adrian learns how to set a broken ankle. Alex helps a child who's been hit by a car, and Claire deals with a woman with agonising chest pain.

It's Reading Festival weekend! Tej treats a 17 year old crushed in a mosh pit, Adrian deals with an 18 year old who's struggling to breathe and Tristan witnesses his first ever seizure.

It's the night shift for the junior doctors. Adrian's ego takes a hit as he bites off more than he can chew, and Ese has to solve the mystery of a patient's unexplained collapse.

Claire confronts her fears with her first child patient. Tejas steps up to his first trauma case - a man badly injured in an assault. And Adrian takes the plunge with his first chest drain.

Week 2 in the ED for the junior doctors. Adrian does a tricky blood test on a critically-ill patient, and Tej spots something worrying some test results, meaning his patient needs life-saving surgery.

Junior Doctor Alex handles a paracetamol overdose, and a high-risk heart patient. Adnan braves his first shift in Resus, and Claire deals with a woman in agonising stomach pain.

Day 1 in the Emergency Department for the junior doctors. Hira loses a patient, Claire looks after a seriously ill man with a broken hip, and Zak treats a woman who's fallen off her horse.
