Martini Bar Basement Jul 8, 2010

Chicago's Ashley and Brian Riordan have a rather ordinary finished basement, and a guestroom that is literally useless. What they need is a great place to entertain, but this space never really fits the bill. You see the problem is low hanging ductwork that stands out like a sore thumb. We're going to take this problem and turn it into a solution by moving the television under it and creating a stylish textured tile wall treatment around it. We'll add new cabinets and a hidden Murphy bed in addition to sleek new flooring and updated kitchenette. Then the crowning jewel will be the custom table with lighted storage.

Urban Boston Den Aug 30, 2010

House Crashers crashes Boston and finds homeowner John Robinson, who just purchased his grandmother's outdated 1960s home. In fact, every room could use an update, but the den in this house is just screaming for one. From bright orange/red carpet, old knotty pine paneling and 1970s light figures, it was just one dark and dank den aching for a crash. To modernize this living space, licensed contractor Josh Temple, along with his Boston team, tackle every inch of the space transforming the den into an urban-living lounge complete with reclaimed hardwood floor ceiling treatment, metallic cork floors, hip bar niches and a recycled paper-slate-like wall with a brand new entertainment center. To really bring some light into this space, they add modern bi-folding doors to take a once dark den to a whole new level.
